Residential, Work, and Social Support For Adults With Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
Riverside Foundation is an active and inclusive community dedicated to supporting adults with moderate to severe intellectual and developmental disabilities. With our roots in Lincolnshire, Illinois, our expansive residential services campus has been a cornerstone since our establishment. In 2014, we proudly broadened our horizons by introducing small group homes across neighboring communities. Our commitment to providing staff-supported living environments in these homes empowers our residents to experience greater independence.
We’re passionate about offering this housing model and plan to extend these opportunities as we grow. Our ongoing expansion aims to enable more individuals to choose the fulfilling lifestyle of a small group home. Furthermore, our Community Center serves as a hub for fostering creativity, expanding knowledge, and facilitating community integration. Through engaging in volunteer activities, our residents develop meaningful connections and enhance their sense of belonging within the broader community.
How Our Services Work
At Riverside Foundation, we prioritize our residents’ well-being by conducting comprehensive assessments that consider their strengths, needs, and any physical, emotional, or psychological challenges they may face. Our dedicated team of professionals tailors a personalized program for each individual, integrating social services, specialized therapies, recreational activities, and medical support to address their unique requirements.
Residents actively participate in shaping their individualized programs, aligning them with personal goals that encompass educational pursuits, interests, and moments of enjoyment. A core element of our approach is fostering community integration, where each resident engages in life-skills training and recreational activities, facilitating their integration into a wider community.
Our interdisciplinary team works cohesively to empower residents, guiding them to enhance their sense of responsibility, independence, and social skills. Through this collaborative effort, we aim to support each resident in maximizing their potential for a fulfilling life.
